I´m currently working on this Website as part of an exam. The exam is taking place in the lecture of Mr. Backin. In this exam I have to build this Website. I chose to make a portfolio of myself, because I need one anyway after my graduation. The Portfolio consists of five Headerpoint (Home; About Me; News; Portfolio; Contact Me and Legal Notice). The Menu Point Portfolio has four Submenus consisting of Project JTCOA; Fracking for Future; Flappy Beer and a Tale of Day and Night (ATODAN). The Menu Legal Notice (German: Impressum) also has a submenu named „privacy statement“.
The Menu
The Menu Home shows a brief overview of everything on this Website. About Me ist „about me“ and summarises my life, my hobbies and my skills. News is my Blog where I post everything I find worthy of sharing. The Portfolio shows all my recent Projects and also gives a brief overview. Last but not least Contact has a Contact form as well as everything else there is to know and Legal Notice/Privacy Statement tell you everything, so that you can’t sue me that easily!
The Backend
The Backend of the Website is from WordPress (the poster is Lima City). In the Backend I first had to choose a Theme, because the three standard themes provided by WordPress are quite frankly not that great. The search was actually kind of difficult, because there are so many good Themes to work with. Sadly the „very good“ Themes are hidden behind a paywall. Long Story Short I narrowed the search down to a few and in the end I choose a Theme called „Neve“. This Theme workes really well with the Plug In „Elementor“, wich is kind of the Lego Version of Word Press. With this tool arranging and „sticking“ together elements, like Titels, Texts and Images, was a piece of Cake.
The Plug Ins
But Elementor wasn’t the only Plug In that I used for my Portfolio Website. Next to the already pre-installed Plug In called Akismed-Anti Spam, I dowloaded the Yoasr SEO Tool, as well as the Contact Form 7, CookieYes, WP Forms, Word Fence Security Plugins plus a few smaller ones.
The Presentation will be on Tuesday. Wish me Luck!
